Possible applications

iPSM with one stator module and field weakening is suitable for A/B-Segment BEVs as primary drive and C-Segment BEVs as secondary drive, providing high efficiency and performance.

Our in-house designed stator ironless PSM is the backbone of our powertrain solutions. The iPSM can be operated with and without field weakening due to the elimination of iron losses.

A/B-Segment BEV

Primary drives

With increasing demand for affordable BEVs, almost every high volume OEM will launch such a vehicle on the market within the next three years.

The cost of the drive system is therefore the most important factor. The iPSM with its low active part weight and low production costs with sufficiently high torque in the simplest design with one stator module is therefore ideally suited for use in this segment.

C-Segment BEV

Secondary drives

Due to the fact that the electrification of traction drives means that an additional axle can be powered with relatively little effort, there are also more and more AWD BEVs in the mid-range segment.

​Torque and power requirements are significantly lower compared to the primary drive and can therefore be served very well with iPSM technology.
